Here is another example of a company who has become so large they do not care if they keep their customers are not. You are probably wondering what company I am talking about. The one I am referring to Express Scripts medical insurance pharmacy network. In the past Walgreens and Express Scripts have had an agreement in which Express Scripts would pay for prescriptions filled at Walgreens pharmacies. This contract ended as of December 31, 2011 and Express Scripts decided they would not renew it. Walgreens attempted to meet their demands and negotiated to keep the contract. These negotiations failed and as of January 1, 2012 you can no longer have your prescriptions filled at any Walgreens pharmacy nationwide or Duane Reade pharmacies in the New York City area.

This can be extremely upsetting and inconvenient for anyone who has had their prescriptions filled at Walgreens pharmacies in the past. Walgreens is extremely concerned and wants to help their customers. They have decided to create a special discount on the Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens annual membership. Now a family, including the spouse, dependents 22 years of age or under and their pets, can join for only $10 per year. Individual memberships only cost $5 per year.

Joining the Walgreens club will allow you to receive discounted prices as well as savings on more than 8,000 brand-name and all generic medications, discounts on flu shots, pet prescriptions, nebulizers and diabetic supplies. Find out more by following them at Walgreens on Twitter and Walgreens on Facebook pages.
